Get DTAC ready
Developed by the NHS, the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) is an assessment criterion for the commissioning of digital health technologies across the NHS and social care services.
But do you have the skills and resource to conduct these assessments?
The Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps (ORCHA) has been assessing health apps for the NHS since 2015 and provides a DTAC assessment service to NHS organisations and digital health suppliers that is:
- Accurate - avoids interpretation and subjectivity.
- Continuous - verification following every product update.
- Efficient - dramatically cuts the time needed by your team.
Our Digital Health Assessors will guide you through each step of the process. They will provide practical advice and support based on their extensive knowledge of digital health.
Upon meeting the DTAC criteria you will receive a certificate and compliance evidence.
DTAC assessment
The DTAC gives NHS health and care professionals, staff, patients and citizens confidence that your digital health product meets clinical safety, data protection, technical security, interoperability, and usability and accessibility standards.
For a digital health product to pass the DTAC, it needs to meet all of the requirements in each of the four sections; clinical safety, data protection, technical security, and interoperability. At ORCHA we will help you through the process.

Upon completion of the DTAC assessment, you will receive an ORCHA certified DTAC badge and certificate. You will also receive a detailed report which will highlight areas of compliance and if a product doesn't pass, receive practical recommendations around what is needed to meet the DTAC criteria.
